~Great place to take your kids, cozy room where kids can play with games, toys or
read a book, Mom's love to kick back in a living room setting.  Just a few doors
down from Mudd Puddles.  Located in the Sherwood Plaza.

~I absolutely love this kid friendly cafe! The play area is gated so Mom can sit and
sip a hot cup of coffee without worrying that her toddler will wander off. I enjoy
meeting my girl friends there and let the kids play while we get some much needed
down time.

~The food is great, with a wonderful variety for the whole family.
I also appreciate that they serve a variety of peanut free faire.
Just try it, you will be a return customer!

~This is a cute little coffee place that isn't over crowded.  They have a separate
play room I can take my little ones to with a train table and other toys.  It is
just nice to get out of the house sometimes and have them entertained as well.  And
the coffee is good too!

This was a great pit-stop for a busy morning visiting friends and running errands in
Portland.  I had my husband and two little girls.  i read about this place on this
site before we left.  The playroom was very small, but good enough for two
stir-crazy kids.  The coffee and service was excellent.  I really felt welcome, even
with small kids!

~Open Space was opened on February 23rd as an friendly cafe to kids,
neighbors and especially the environment. The website boasts the
cafe's goal to be a sustainable, yet indulgent place to enjoy the
little happy bits of life without feeling guilty for being a
consumer.  It has a wonderful selection of food from local and organic
vendors, many of them great for kids of all ages.  Mom and Dad can
have their coffee and the little ones can romp in the play area, which
is well contained and full of games, toys and art.  I love that I can
order anything from the menu and know that it's safe, healthy and good
for the earth.  They even offer a reusable travel mug for free!  (You
can donate all your old ones too...)  What a welcome addition to the
community and another great place to relax with the kids. And when you
can get a sitter, they have happy hour too.  I haven't had the brunch
on the weekends yet, but I can't wait to try it!  Thanks!

~The NE location of Urban Grind is very spacious and the staff is welcoming to kids.  There is a kid toy area and lots of space to run.  Once in a while there is a wireless laptop geek appearing to be concentrating on "business" but I never worry about bothering them.  After all, they can leave, right?  The food and coffee are good.

~My sister just introduced me to this place last weekend.  It's funky and
urban...(hints the name)this feels like home to me - cozy.  They have two separate play places for kids with toys and books.  It wasn't too crouded either for Saturday at noon.  The coffee is seriously good.  The menu: Breakfast food, Paninis, salad and soup.  We weren't too hungry - my little and I just split a bagel and cream cheese.  Looking forward to going again!

~This is a really kid friendly coffee shop. there are toys for the kids to play with while you enjoy your coffee, and it is a nice open space so it is easy to keep an eye on them. the coffee and treats are great and they can make a good steamer for your little one that won't burn their tongue and isn't too sweet!        Angela,  Portland Mom of 2

This is a new neighborhood establishment that I have welcomed wholeheartedly into our community.  The "manager" Lorelei is a fantastic warm spirit who greets us enthusiastically every time.  There is a nice play area for the kids, and they are creating activities for children, such as having a storyteller on Wednesday afternoons.  They are also considering a language circle.  It is just down the street from Montavilla Community Center and a great place to visit before or after for a bite or a coffee.         Elizabeth, NE Portland Mom of 1
