Wanted to let you
know that I live close to an "unofficial" street that is like
peacock lane where almost every house is fully lit up and there are lots of fun
things on the lawn etc... It is summit court in clackamas- close to clackamas
town center. It is off of
Highland loop where I live and there are a lot of houses there that are really
decorated too but not the concentration of them like on summit ct. This time of
year
we hear cars all evening long going up there to see them.
Hope that is helpful

~This is one business, but very bright, very full and fun display of Christmas
lights, talking characters, etc.
if you live in the Clackamas, Carver, Damascus, Estacada, & Boring areas
it's a quick trip and a great little "surprise" for the kids on your way home
from running holiday errands.
~Nighthawk's lights are awesome, I go there with my family every year. Me and my
brother like the music and the free candy canes. It gets bigger every year! Some
of
my favorites are the snow machine and the huge Christmas tree that changes
colors!

~If you are interested in a light
display without any Christian sentiment, this is it. Lots of fun electric
animals to see. The real animals are asleep, however. - Portland Mom

~I took my beloved Obear to the zoo. The lights WOWed us!! So spectacular.. Obear
enjoyed seeing the "Big Cat" lights. We also enjoyed the hot cocoa. Bathrooms
were easy to locate, although obear used the bushes ;) SE Portland Father

~Fun, expensive. If you plan to go to the zoo once or twice during the
day in the course of the year, I'd buy a membership before you get there.
The lines are long and after paying admission for 2 adults and a few kids, a
family pass (membership) is actually cheaper if you'll visit again - then you
can go right into Zoolights with no (or small) lines!

If Jesus in the reason for the season,
then you'll enjoy The Grotto. Kids love the petting zoo and concerts
featuring many young singing groups. Hillsboro Mom of

We loved it the lights were so wonderful, puppet show was ok, but the petting
zoo was a nice range of animals. The singing, plays and hot cocoa were a real
treat. Worth the money. By the way the middle bathroom has heat....

its best to park away from there or ride the bus and walk down there, but I
haven't
been down there in about 8 years, but every time i have been down there the
traffic
has been really backed up bad, and if you walk down there (its only 2-3 blocks)
you
can take as much time looking at the lights as you want. People were usually
selling
hot chocolate and hot cider.
J, SE Portland Parent of 1 (age 4)
We went to Peacock Lane last year for the first time in many years, It is
VERY crowded and, quite honestly, I didn't think the light displays were all
that exciting. Even my young kids were quite "ho, hum" over the whole ordeal.
If you live in the area, it's a nice tradition to see once or twice. I
would not drive from very far to go to Peacock Lane. The Christmas ships
were much more interesting and exciting...so if you can combine a Christmas
Ships viewing with Peacock Lane, it might be worth a short trip.

Just took my kids over to the Starwood light display and have
to say many of the
homes that had decorations did not have them turned on. Kids loved seeing the
lights
that were on, but would have been much more enjoyable if all decorated homes
had
their lights on.

~The is another rumored light display. I believe this area used to be
called Candy Cane Lane, but I'm not
sure they are still lighting things up. If you have been to this light
display this year. Email Me!

I thought this was a great display. Not all the houses are lit
up but some are done
really well and its longer than peacock lane and none of the traffic makes it
a greT
choice for impatient little ones! My daughter loved it! Also no traffic means
as you
wait!

~We have been going to the Celebration of
Lights in Colton for years. It is a
magical display of millions of lights and really gets you in the holiday
spirit. It
is totally free and worth the trip. The folks that put on the light
display are
dedicated volunteers that do it as a gift for all to come and see. Every
year we go
they have added something new so from year to year it is never the same.
