~We spend many days here. Indoor tree house, rock wall and amazing equipment to use!
The coaches are great with the kiddos!
Perfect birthday party place, too.
My favorite classes are the kids' martial arts & the adults' circus skills classes.

4/28/09 ~ Munchkin Playland is my most recent rainy day- awesome find. My two year old had a
blast playing with all of the fun toys (climbing and non)and getting his very own
kids cocoa. There's even a baby dinosaur that talks and moves! I enjoyed my coffee
while watching my toddler have so much fun.  Christelle, Aloha Mom of 3

6/27/09 ~I absolutely love this place. My three year old had a blast for well over an hour.
Basically, they have a play area similar to the one at Washington Square Mall. There
is a 42 inch height limit (and it's enforced!) There are also other toys (kitchen
set, dinosaur, school bus, etc) that my daughter really liked.

~I have to say that while Mt Scott's indoor play time is the right price (only $1 per child) it isn't the most fun. The park is actually on their underground roller rink, there are a few windows along one edge but they're covered in bars, you have to take the toys from their storage area and bring them to the play area yourself, and there isn't any padding to cover the hardwood roller rink. It'd be nicer if they brought out the tumbling mats they use for their other kid activities and had the play time in the very well lit upstairs gym.

I love Mt. Scott indoor park! It's held on the roller rink , every morning 9:15-11:15. It's a buck a kid. They provide tons of trike, little tike toys, balls, and tumble mat to choose from. The rink has a wall encircling it, so it helps keep little one's contained. Great place to socialize with other parents and get involved in the community.

The problem with this place is simple:  It's very dirty not maintained well.  The
gym is dirty and the toys are dirty.  I always feel like I need a good shower when I
leave this place. My daughter's hands are black from just 20 minutes playing.  Many
of the ride-on toys are damaged.
One thing that is very annoying to me is that sometimes a half-hour before the
indoor play is over, over-zealous parents start putting all the toys away.   The
last time my daughter and I were there, we arrived an hour before close time and a
half-hour later almost all the toys were taken back to the storage area.  So...we
had to take several back ourselves so we could have a bit more playtime.  I got some
dirty looks from parents who felt their efforts to put toys back were for
nothing...but just because some want to leave early doesn't mean we all do.  It's
just a weird place.  Weird vibes and not very warm.
We have visited several community centers in Portland and this is our least
favorite, least-welcoming option.  We likely won't be visiting again.

~This is a fantastic nonprofit, parent run cooperative located in Inner SE
Portland.  They have a large riding area, trampolines, baby area with mats, play
kitchen, bouncy horses, and amazing wooden climbing structure, train tables and
a tool table.  My kids have loved coming and playing here with the same group of
playmates on a weekly basis.  As a new mom to the area, seven years ago, I met
some wonderful families with whom we still get together with.  This is a place
where your kids can burn off that winter energy and moms can network.  We found
our preschool through other families and have solved some child rearing issues by talking to other moms and trying strategies that have been suggested by them.
My older kids still talk about when they got to go to "play park"!  Visit their
website for more information or stop by for a free tryout on any Monday or
Thursday from 9-11am.  4timemomma Inner SE Pdx mom of 10, 7, 5 and 2 year old.

~The science playground at OMSI is fabulous for so many different reasons.  One of my favorite things about taking my daughter there is the huge variety of activities she can entertain herself with.  it seems that no matter whether we visit alone or with a favorite playmate, she always gets so much from it and comes home completely exhausted.  Me too!  I also like that she is exposed to new and different activities and toys than what we have at home and that she meets and interacts with so many new children close in age.      Emmacafe, Portland mom of 22 month old

~We've been going to OMSI since my oldest was 1 and she loves it.  I love that the Science Playground is contained and she loves all the different activities.  Of course, when we're done playing, we have to go pet the cockroaches, rats, and other animals at the Life Sciences area!            KC, Tanasbourne Mom of 2 (9mo and 2)

~
There are too many great things about this place to list. Many hands on projects and busy town is a great place to get together for play dates. Bring your lunch and plan on spending at least an hour here. Go early before the school busses of kids arrive!    Nikki, SE Portland Mom of 1
