What do you like most about living in Oregon with
children?
I love that the metro area offers so many outdoor activities;
the beach is 90 minutes one way and the mountain is 90 minutes the other way.
What is your favorite Oregon place/outing for families?
My favorite
thing to do is go fishing. You can read a good book, swim, relax in the sun,
play in the dirt and catch dinner all at the same time.
What was your inspiration for this business?
I've always
enjoyed keeping up to date with the real estate market and investing. When I
had my baby I wanted something that would enable me to spend more time with my
child; I wanted to minimize her time in daycare.
What
do you enjoy most about your business?
In prior jobs,
business was about getting as many people in and out of the door as possible;
it was more about quantity and less about quality. I got to know a little bit
about a lot of people. In this career field I get to do something I enjoy,
and I really get to know a lot of really neat people.
What are the benefits of doing business in Oregon?
Having grown
up in Oregon I've established a number of contacts. Doing business in Oregon
gives me an added reason to track down and keep in touch with old friends as
well as meet new people. I know the area and the people; it's great!
Any
tips on how to balance work and family life?
I do as much
as possible from home. The most important parts of balancing work and family
life are communication and organization. If you don't have time to be
organized or get things done you've got to make time or you wont reach your
full potential.
How
does/can this business (or your product) serve other Oregon moms?
I love my job, I like
to meet new people, and I am very family friendly. I have years of
experience in finance and I am always happy to give advice, if asked. I
am firm believer in the golden rule. There is nothing like sharing the
experience of finding a new home; sometimes I think I get just as excited as
my clients! If you do a good job with people they are very likely to
recommend you to someone else, often that is how small businesses grow.
